Here We Grow Again...

Always remember there was nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name. --Avett Brothers

New chapter in the life of Ali+Jax means new blog. As I left in my last post on my previous site, I use blogging as a way to record life events, feelings, explosions, disasters, and beautiful masterpieces. Just because one chapter ends, doesn't mean a new and exciting and amazing one isn't waiting just on the next page. In our case, Jax and I found our fairytale. Ali+Jax is now half of the Bennett Bunch.

Life has a funny way of working its own plans in front of the ones you had for yourself. Personally, I wasn't dating or looking for anyone new in my life for at least a year and even then, was completely happy if my life was lived shared only with my son. We've been hurt, lied to, misled, abandoned, given empty promises, and more. I say "we" because from the moment I first held him, it has never been "me" since. I am fortunate that he is so young and, for now, doesn't have to experience any of the pain.

To say that we are happy doesn't do our life justice. We are BLESSED!! Call it fate, destiny, or a really bored, pregnant, bedridden friend's practical joke, we found Jamie and Eden. We found our other half. The two pieces to a puzzle we didn't even know we were a part of. Everything fell into place so easily. Nothing forced. Nothing hidden. Nothing but love. Excuse the cheesy, mushy moment. Our lives together are full of fun and laughter and family and knowing that at the end of each day, we all have each other and that we are exactly where we are supposed to be. I had hoped that this existed somewhere, I just don't think I ever fully believed in it.

Jamie and I were married on September 18th - much to the confusion of MANY as we kept this amongst the family. Our wedding ceremony will take place in January and I can't wait!! Eden has been super involved in the planning and picked out our colors. I love seeing her excited about it. Jax will, of course, be a part of the ceremony as well. Given that he is 18 months old...anything can happen, lol. Either way, he's gonna look pimp in his little tuxedo and chubby cheeks.

I now believe, with all of my heart, that everything happens for a reason. Every action, every moment, every mistake, every heartbreak, every breath leads us to our next journey. It's not always a smooth ride and sometimes the bumps hurt a hell of a lot more than most, but when you get here, when you find something like this...it makes EVERYTHING worth it.
So, here's to our new life as the Bennett Bunch. As always, my randomness and flair for postings will continue. The website may be different, but I'll always be Ali :)
